What should a woman do whose family life is signed by physical or emotional abuse and violence?
Correct – she should separate as soon as possible!
However – studies show that the risk for women to be harmed by their husband or partner is much higher after the separation than it is whilst still in the relationship.

Via the backdoor “right of contact with their children” and joined custody this is especially easy to do for perpetrators because the rights of the separated parents of having contact and joined custody stands above the rights for safety from violence against women and children. This short video explains why.
Only by full ratification of the Istanbul convention – an agreement of the European council for the prevention of and combating of violence against women (particularly domestic violence) – could women and children be better safeguarded.
With this petition we call upon the government to immediately ratify the Istanbul convention.
